INSTALLATION, PERFORMANCE 2025
80S/HD was a mixed media installation and performance work unpacking what it was like to be an undiagnosed neurodivergent girl growing up in the 1980s. The story was told through nostalgic aesthetics, found objects from the time and layered storytelling. It explored themes of masking, misunderstanding, performative femininity, and the quiet violence of not fitting in.
The exhibition featured sculptural objects, costumes, photography, sound, and live performance which was anchored by the figure of Rainbow Brite, who gradually deconstructed her costume across decades, revealing the black-clad figure beneath. The work moved from technicolor sparkle to grayscale introspection.
